Parish Life

We are a family…

At St. Thomas of Canterbury, we are a family, and families love to celebrate (and eat!) together! Parish Life coordinates weekly Coffee Hour for the 10am Service as well as the Annual Picnic, and other special parish events. Keep an eye on the calendar and the weekly bulletin announcements for information on our next family gathering.

We seek to put our faith into practice by offering parishioners of all ages a broad variety of ways that they can be involved in parish life. Ministries are broad and varied, and there is something for everyone, even those who wish to serve in a more ‘behind-the-scenes’ way.

We gather to hear God’s Word and to celebrate Eucharist (Holy Communion) every Sunday @ 8:00 am (a quieter service in traditional language), and at 10:00 am (a service that includes music, our choir, and contemporary language). All baptized people are welcome to receive Holy Communion. Other opportunities for prayer (in person and online) are offered weekly as well.

Faith Formation

“Who are you, Lord, and who am I?” St. Augustine prayed this in the beginning of his faith journey. It reflects our own striving to open doors of understanding and learning to the children, youth and adults in our parish. Nursery care for very little ones, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, special Sunday school classes, a youth group, and a variety of offerings for adults are all ways we seek to open doors of faith and understanding.

Pastoral Care

Offering pastoral counseling, prayer and bringing Holy Communion to people unable to join us are some of the ways we reach out. We are happy to be of service to those without a home congregation as we are able – just call and tell us how we can help.
