Hope house—OCTOBER Focus
Hope House offers hope to women (and their children) who have been abandoned by their spouses. Hope House first provides accommodations and meals (communal, everyone helps) for immediate needs. Followed by job and life skills training, and clothing. Hope House is always in need of the sort of clothing worn for job interviews and office settings. And eventually help the women in finding a place to live;
Whatever is needed to get their clients back into the mainstream. The women at Hope House face daunting problems most of us can’t imagine.
Please be generous in every way possible.

COMNUNITY GARDEN PROJECT
Multiple work days have been scheduled to build the boxes for our Community Garden. Today after church, from 12-2PM is the next opportunity to help build the garden boxes. On Oct 15th from 10am-2pm and Oct 16th from 12pm-2pm, we plan to fill the boxes. In the case of rain, the days will be rescheduled for a later time. No experience is necessary- just bring yourselves and a pair of work gloves. Even if you can’t help with the physical work, we need donations of any cardboard you might have, to line the boxes before filling them with compost. We also would appreciate the loan of any shovels and wheelbarrows.
TRUNK OR TREAT
This year, STOC is going to take advantage of our wonderful neighborhood location by holding our first Trunk or Treat during Greendale’s Trick or Treat, on Oct 30th from 4-7pm. Decorate your cars and trunks and join us in the parking lot to pass out candy and treats (individual commercially packaged only, please) to the neighborhood children and see them in their costumes!
Plan ahead for a busy, fun-filed day at the end of this month, October 30th!!! The Packers game is scheduled for noon that day and probably activities for Halloween in your neighborhood. Perfect time to have a sandwich and snack on hand! Sub Sandwiches will be available after both services on Sunday, October 30th. Look for order forms and details at church today and again on Oct 16 & 23, so the food can be ordered and ready to take home on 10/30. Thank you, Lee Monk and Veronica Heaney
The Weekly Readings can now be found on the STOC Website ahead of each service at: http://stocchurch.com/readings/
